Offsite Tour: The Birthplace at Henderson Hospital
Monday, 13 August | 8:30 am - 11:00 a.m.
On this 60-minute guided tour, you will walk the halls of the Women’s and Children’s Services Department and tour The Birthplace, which features private labor, delivery and recovery suites, a postpartum unit and newborn nursery, Cesarean surgical suites, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). You’ll also gain first-hand insights into the lactation services and education offered by the facility. There will be a 30-minute Q&A session at the conclusion of the tour.
There is a $50 USD fee to participate. Registration is required.
Research Pre-conference Workshop: The Nuts and Bolts of Lactation Research
Monday, 13 August | 12:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Join Research Team Co-Chairs Azza H. Ahmed and Wilai Rojjanasrirat for an in-depth pre-conference workshop before the first plenary session begins. The purpose of this presentation is to provide a basic understanding of the research methods, literature review search, research designs, and ethics in research. The presenters will focus on the quantitative methods and offer tools to effectively assess and design a research study or quality improvement project. Content will cover steps and major factors in designing quantitative studies with several examples of breastfeeding research and projects. Finally, strategies and resources in research collaboration will be discussed.
