Egondu Onuoha is currently the Vice President, Real Estate and Special Programs at the Brooklyn Hospital Center in NYC. She is a Registered Dietitian, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, a Certified Diabetes Educator, a Grant Professional Certified, a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a Fellow of the International Lactation Consultant Association.
Prior to becoming a Vice President, Egondu worked as a Breastfeeding Coordinator and a Lactation Consultant for several healthcare agencies and trained over 500 breastfeeding peer counselors. Egondu also served on the International Board for Lactation Consultant Examiners from 2000 to 2007. She was the Director of Nutrition and WIC services at the Ryan health center in Manhattan from 1998 to 2000. She also served on MILCC Board of Directors. Egondu breastfed four children.
Egondu is originally from Nigeria where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master’s Degree in Food Science and Technology. She also did her approved pre professional practice program at Hunter College in NYC.
In her current role as a Vice President, she continues to oversee maternal child programs including the WIC Program where the program provides service to over 20,000 women, infants and children monthly from seven locations in Brooklyn, N.Y.
