Ojas Suniti Vinay is IBCLC working with lactating mothers from rural and suburban areas of Wardha district, central India. Ojas is passionate about helping rural mothers on their breastfeeding journey balancing modern science with traditional knowledge. After her M.Sc. Biodiversity she worked as research fellow at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in community biodiversity conservation field. She took up formal education in lactation profession because of lack of professional lactation support in her district during her personal journey in adoptive breastfeeding. Making use of her lactation education she started working in hospital and online clinic during covid lockdown years and thereafter. She supported more than thousand mothers to achieve successful breastfeeding- during postpartum, relactation, adoptive breastfeeding journeys. She has also written article series in news papers, given TV interviews and radio podcasts for lactation awareness in local language.
