Dr. Lisette Jacobson is an associate professor in the Department of Population Health and the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, University of Kansas Medical School-Wichita. She holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in health psychology. Her research focuses on translational/behavioral research in women’s health including diabetes, lactation, pre/postnatal health, and health equity among underrepresented populations. She is the principal investigator on several grants including the National Institutes of Health leading to peer-reviewed publications/presentations. She teaches in doctoral and master’s level programs chairing student dissertations/thesis projects to successful completion. She has served in leadership positions on state and local breastfeeding coalitions. Prior to her career in academia, Dr. Jacobson was a human resources and public finance manager for more than 10 years. She is married and has three kids, her first being a set of breastfed twins. She has travelled extensively living in places such as the Netherlands and Japan.
