RN, IBCLC, NICU Lactation Consultant
HCGH, Maryland, United States
I graduated from the University of Maryland School of Nursing with a BSN in 1984, MSN from Notre Dame of Maryland University in 2012, and am currently a PhD candidate at the Catholic University of America. My initial nursing experience includes nine years in adult medical/surgical settings, followed by 21 years in a Well-Baby Nursery. Beginning in 2002, I also worked per diem as an inpatient IBCLC on the postpartum unit and assumed the role of full time Lactation Clinical Coordinator in 2014. During my tenure as the Lactation coordinator, I served as our Baby Friendly Team Lead after securing a grant with EmPower Breastfeeding. Currently, I work as the NICU Lactation Consultant and Nursing Inquiry Chair at the Howard County General Hospital while working to finish my PhD dissertation work.
