Ph.D. Candidate
McGill University, Ontario, Canada
Tamara Ajeeb is a registered dietitian and a Ph.D. candidate at McGill University. She works with Prof. Kristine G. Koski to explore the interrelationship among maternal diet, human milk microbiome, and their influence on early-life infant growth in low-middle-income country settings. She is particularly interested in understanding factors associated with early-life malnutrition and improving early-life health outcomes among vulnerable populations. She has co-authored several papers, one on the maternal factors and early breastfeeding practices that influence the milk microbiome, and two on the relationship of the milk microbiome with growth in breastfed infants prior to six months of age. Tamara was selected for the 2023 McGill Global Health Scholars Award.
